Benefits of Booking a Back to Back Cruise

Many cruisers have never thought of combining 2 cruises.  But for most, a 3 or 4 night cruise isn’t quite long enough.  So why not take a 3 and 4 night cruise together to give a 7 night cruise?

Here are a few benefits of taking a “Back to Back” cruise:

Traveling to port for some can be quite a haul and expensive for shorter cruises.  You could possibly save money by spreading out your travel time and possibly gas money if you prefer to drive to port.

Packing and unpacking can be a hassle during the shorter cruises.  You also don’t have to worry about having your suitcases packed and by your door at midnight the night before debarkation if you choose to have the cruise ship handle your luggage.

During a Back to Back cruise you do not have to rush to be off the ship early.  You can enjoy breakfast in the dining room or at the buffet.   However, you will have to debark the ship and wait in a holding area for a about 45 minutes.  During this time, you can check in for the second part of your cruise.  After the ship has cleared customs and immigration, you will then be escorted back on the ship with the other fellow “back to backers” and you will then have the ship all to yourself for a few hours.  Once back on board, be sure to take advantage of the complimentary coffees at the specialty coffee bar (most cruise lines).  You will also have the pool all to yourself and you may even have the opportunity to go down the slide as many times as you would like.  Climb the stairs to the slide, splash, and repeat!  Or you can enjoy the adult only pool and enjoy the extra peace and quiet and take in some sun.  Once lunch is set up, you can be the first to enjoy the buffet or even the dining room without any lines.

For Disney fans, a big perk of this plan is to book cruises that port at Disney’s private island Castaway Cay.  It’s like a bonus day of island tranquility! Another perk for Disney fans, the two sailings will  get you well on your way to earning Gold or Platinum status in the Castaway Club.

A Back to Back cruise also offers you the opportunity to get some great photos of the ship and even around this ship without any crowds.

Back to back cruises are half the hassle and double the fun and excitement!
